CN Rail - buyer of BC Rail - main sponsor for Christy Clark speech to Vancouver Board of Trade!

Premier Christy Clark - questions on BC Rail?
Don't expect a lot of questions to be asked about the $1 billion privatization of BC Rail in 2003 - or about the Basi-Virk/BC Legislature Raid case - when Premier Christy Clark speaks at the Vancouver Board of Trade on June 16.

That's because the events "Presenting Sponsor" is none other than CN Rail - which bought BC Rail!

The event is a hokey "conversation" between Clark and 60 Minutes TV show co-editor Lesley Stahl.

And in an unintentionally hilarious error by the Board of Trade, ads for the event say: "Join us for this signature even kicking off a new era of member engagement...."

Of course, ex-Premier Gordon Campbell launched his "New Era" of "Hope and Prosperity" after winning the 2001 provincial election.

Clark - who literally refuses to speak Campbell's name in all public statements, referring to him only as "my predecessor" - won't likely use the "new era" term.

What will be interesting is if this "conversation" will be compared to Katie Couric's devastating TV interview with Sarah Palin that showed the Vice-Presidential candidate to be less than up to speed on major issues.

Premier Photo-Op is in serious need of showing some comprehensive grasp of public policy rather than lighting the Olympic Cauldron and wearing a Canucks jersey.

Adrian Dix could use improvement too. He's perpetually miserable and grumpy on TV.

Who would want a sourpuss like him for Premier?

Oh right yeh, the NDP, who are constantly "fighting" for something.

Just because Adrian Dix doesn't spend every waking moment smirking or saying families first, doesn't mean he is grumpy. Unlike Mz. Christy he doesn't have the major BC papers fawning all over him. The woman is out of her depth but too dumb to know it.

That's right, the NDP are fighting for equality for taxpayers as opposed to the dictatorship style of the Liberals. Are you also saying it's wrong for the NDP to fight for public scrutiny on the Liberals masive giveaway to private IPP's that will cost us Billions over 30 years. Are you suggesting it's wrong for the NDP to fight for public details in the massive overruns (458 million) on the BC Convention Centre. You should be thanking the opposition.

That's funny!! The NDP raised taxes including the PST when they were in power, and they did not have much of citizen input in doing so, like they want now.

Nope? Was it wrong for those opposed to the NDP to be against the FastCats and one can also ask was it wrong for Falcon's "Have you had Enough Yet"? Movement to exist back then??

" Are you suggesting it's wrong for the NDP to fight for public details in the massive overruns (458 million) on the BC Convention Centre.

Considering that the federal NDP will BE at the Convention centre in a few weeks, I'd say no.

Considering the place was built with union made materials and with union labour, I'd say no.

You should be thanking the opposition.

You should be thanking the Great Spirit that VanderZalm won't BE in Opposition.

Doesn't have to be an on sugar happy happy feeling all the time, but he sure is grumpy alot.

Adrian Dix just doesn't sell. He's a bit over himself, but doesn't know it yet.

I'd like to see what his positive workable solutions are, not his repetitive repeats of problems.

Then we NDPers will have something to sell to the voting public.

Even to those who are "working British Columbians"
