Black Dodge pickup truck with license plate CL 9159 linked to vandalism of Fight HST signs in Surrey - can you help find it?

2006 Dodge Dakota pickup truck
Can you help find a truck linked to vandalism of Fight HST referendum signs in Surrey?

We have been informed by a very reliable source that on Sunday July 10 at about 5:40 p.m. a black 2006 Dodge pickup truck with license plate number CL 9159 - similar to the one above - was connected to Fight HST sign vandalism in the Port Kells neighbourhood of Surrey.

A black pickup pulled over at 182 Street and 92 Avenue.  A blonde woman in her mid 30s to early 40s in a flowered dressed jumped out and grabbed a Fight HST sign that was put up there and threw it into a blackberry bush.

She jumped back in the truck, which then sped off - but our witnesses were able to follow it and write down the license plate number - CL 9159.

Our witnesses believe the driver and passenger of this truck are aware they were followed and their license plate identified.

If you know the identity of the owner, driver or  passenger of this truck, please contact me.  You can email me or simply send an anonymous message that will NOT be posted.

Police have not been contacted at this point and we simply want to determine if the information we have about this incident can be further corroborated.

If you are the owner, driver or passenger involved in this vandalism - if you contact me and explain what happened, the police may not be contacted.

This behaviour is wrong, it is illegal and it has to stop.

Now you're just getting silly Bill. You're only going to call the police if it suits you? It's illegal but you don't want them involved. Why? So you can be judge and jury?

You described what happened and have already concluded that it was wrong behaviour. What exactly do you want explained? More exact details of how it happened? Doesn't matter, "This behaviour is wrong, it is illegal and it has to stop." Why it happened? Doesn't matter, "This behaviour is wrong, it is illegal and it has to stop."

Of course it will stop. But not because of any threat to call the police. If not before, for any reason, then it will surely cease after the referendum.

But why do YOU think it has to stop? Because it is illegal? Such an easy solution, we should have put you in charge of crime prevention years ago. Off you go now to the UN with your plan for world peace.

Or perhaps you believe it has to stop simply because it's wrong. Sadly not everyone has the same beliefs about what is right and wrong. That's why we have disagreements, arguments, fights, wars, and assorted methods of resolution involving military or police, arrests, trials and jails.

Unless of course you can put your plan for world peace into action and dispense with all that unnecessary security you want to threaten people with.

But then I guess those people wouldn't see the point in letting you guilt them into not doing something that they think is right to begin with.

Silly Billy.

Thefts of signs is illegal and Bill was giving the owner of the truck a chance to fess up. Takes a couple of seconds for the cops to run the plate number. He was doing it the easy way for the perp. Lots of signs around where we live in the little town of Victoria where we live. have not seen any altered ones and some are on city property and they look good. Of course the trashing will stop when the YES side wins the referendum , as the signs are in place to remind people about the legal processes that have brought the issue forward ever since Gordo decided he needed the money and we were going to give it to him, no questions asked. Gordo has been proven wrong. THose signs cost money, take time to position and only an idiot would even consider removing them

Bill, let's get the witness to report it.

I'm gonna guess that your first 'Anonymous' poster is a HST fan... Bill, have your reliable witness submit a report to police.

Anonymous,

Usually you have wise comments - all signed anonymous - sometimes, just Anon.

This time you are being absurd, all full of your silly self.

You're getting a bit vigilante.

Call the police and file a complaint.

Let the Surrey Detachment handle it.

If you have a witness, deliver said witness to the Surrey RCMP.

Having over the top overzealous supporters wanting to find this vehicle can lead to legal action against that supporter (and also you) if said supporter does somthing stupid against the owner of the vehicle or inflicts damage to said vehicle.

Do the right thing.

March yourself and the witness to the Surrey RCMP and report it.

Make absolutely sure those signs are off the road after the referendum ends. THey should not be there weeks after the referendum is done.

The Yes Side could be sent a bill for costs incurred for the city or municipality removing them.

Interesting how many Anonymous posters suddenly want me to call the police about this sign vandalism incident.

If the witnesses want to report the event to police I certainly support that but it is their choice. It is not up to me.

I believe my information about this incident is absolutely correct.

I am not encouraging any "vigilante" action at all.

If I learn who these people are, I will contact them and ask for their explanation.

The stolen signs will not be investigated by the police. They are totally pro Liberal. So are the courts, judges, police, Elections BC, the media. There is nothing in this province, that isn't fouled by corruption.

Look at the attitude of 11:53. How can it be right to steal signs? It is criminal, to do so. You damn right this should stop. If the BC Liberals signs were stolen or defaced, the police would have been called at once.

There are two sets of law in BC. One for corrupt thieving politicians, corrupt police, Elections BC corruption. The other set of laws, for the everyday citizen.

I am stating, the theft of the signs, is dead wrong. Stealing is wrong, and against the law. Especially for the ordinary folks anyway, it is.

Why not? if you're that concerned about it, call the police to ge them to investigate that's why they are there (they're not there to give Tim Horton's additional business).

"If the witnesses want to report the event to police I certainly support that but it is their choice. It is not up to me."

So it is up to you to go public without reporting also to the police? Sounds a bit silly-billy.

"I believe my information about this incident is absolutely correct."

If it is, then report to the police. Let them handle it.

"I am not encouraging any "vigilante" action at all. "

Think you are, by getting mileage out of it for your blog.

"If I learn who these people are, I will contact them and ask for their explanation."

That's the job for the police, not yourself. You can't be judge and jury. What you have stated is close to vigilantism.

Call the police with what you have and let them handle it.

More BS from a BS filled poster.

There has been precent for investigations of stolen and vandalised signs belonging to the NDP and other parties.

Oh my. How does the first Anonymous "silly-billy" poster not realize how humiliating his or her posts are? No wonder the person won't give their name!

The first anonymous poster (myself) would gladly welcome a change to this blog where there were no more anonymous postings but it wouldn't change anything except maybe less people discussing politics.

Obviously an issue like this attracts a lot of trolls and shills. We need to always keep this in mind.

but I have to be anonymous due to the mechanics of this system

Pemberton mayor yanks fight HST sign out of ground, stuffs it into car

Laila Yuile reports: "In a stunning revelation today Fight HST organizers learned that Pemberton Mayor Jordan Sturdy stole a Fight HST lawn sign from public property.

Fight HST organizer for the Sea to Sky corridor, Kelly Carson, was notified of the theft by an undisclosed source who witnessed the mayor driving up, removing the sign and taking it into his vehicle. Carson immediately contacted Sturdy, who admitted to taking the sign."

Please note that the article does not say what kind of vehicle Mayor Sturdy drove to the commit his crime ;)

Does the identity of the vehicle actually matter to readers??

If you are looking for a vandal in a "Black Dodge pickup truck with license plate CL 9159", then... YES!

If you are looking for a vandal in a "Black Dodge pickup truck with license plate CL 9159", then... YES!

This person's response is precisely WHY there should not be any vigilantism from the YES Side.

If this person is worried enough about black Dodge trucks, then rent or borrow one to actually start picking up the YES signs starting at 7 AM on August 6th!
