Support Darcie Clarke - mother of 3 children murdered by Allan Schoenborn - now getting day passes in Port Coquitlam, where she now lives!

Cordon, Kaitlynne and Max
It was one of the most sickening crimes I've ever heard of in British Columbia - a father brutally murdered his three children, set the home on fire and waited for his estranged wife to return home to this horrific scene.

After that he fled into the woods near Merritt for days before he was captured alive.

Allan Schoenborn stabbed to death his daughter Kaitlynne, 10, and smothered his sons Max, 8, and Cordon, 5.

Schoenborn is either purely evil or so mentally ill he should never be released from custody after this slaughter.

But no - he is now being given escorted day passes from the Psychiatric Hospital at Colony Farm to go to Starbucks and the Port Coquitlam swimming pool just three years after the 2008 crimes!

And his shattered ex-wife Darcie Clarke lives in that community with her cousin.  Now she is understandably terrified that he is trying to find her and is not far from her home.

Unbelievable doesn't even begin to describe this turn of events.

Disgusting doesn't do it either.

CKNW AM 980's World Today host Jon McComb is trying to do something about it  - and I'm happy to help and encourage you to do the same.

Visit Jon's website, where you can leave your comments about this travesty.

Jon will forward them to the appropriate authorities, including the Psychiatric Review Board, the Psychiatric Hospital and BC Attorney General Barry Penner.

And in this federal election tell all candidates that this situation is totally unacceptable.

No doubt the Cons under Harper will use this sad case as reason for his tough on crime argument.
The man is a nutter, and shouldn't be out on the street for a number of years after extensive treatment.

The poor woman has lost her children and is in fear for her life.

They haven't yet, and won't since this is a localized issue. Kind of a silly statement to make. Cite?

"The poor woman has lost her children and is in fear for her life."

No kidding.

Well anon, this may be a local issue, but it sure affects a lot of people. And by the way. The present AG is talking of appealing his increased time around the general public.I rather think his time over at the rec center might end fairly soon.Does anon plan on doing coffee with the murderer any time soon? I thought not

It does, but still does not square with your insane statment "No doubt the Cons under Harper wil use this sad case as a reason for his tough on crime argument". That simply won't happen, since Schoenborn is a provincial issue, not a federal one.

"And by the way. The present AG is talking of appealing his increased time around the general public."

Nothin wrong with that.

I rather think his time over at the rec center might end fairly soon."

"Does anon plan on doing coffee with the murderer any time soon? I thought not"

Another dumb comment. Keep at though, the talent is showing and growing.

This is the most absurd decision, I have ever heard in my life. His chaperone had better be a 250lb body builder and wrestler. I am beginning to wonder, just who is insane here. How dare they take such a monster out into the public? He needs to be institutionalized for the rest of his life.

Only in BC would this happen. I guess this goes with the rest of the insanity, going on in this province.

Your typical use of "unbelievable" statements in past columns lends credence to Schoenborn being innocent. Please don't make a mockery of your incredulous view of reality.

If you are going to write an article about this type of thing, get your story straight. That house was not set on fire, I have family who live just around the corner and I see it every weekend when I go to merritt. This upsets me, what happened was horrible to those kids, and they dont need it to be sugar coated with things like that.
