BREAKING NEWS - BC NDP CAUCUS MEETING TODAY CANCELLED!

Carole James and NDP MLA supporters on Thursday December 2

BC NDP Caucus showdown between Carole James and 13 dissenting MLAs suddenly cancelled shortly after 2 p.m.

The scheduled NDP MLA caucus meeting set for Sunday at 4 p.m. in Vancouver was called off with less than 2 hours notice, Public Eye Online's Sean Holman reports.

Caucus Chair Kathy Corrigan sent out a brief news release stating: "that meeting has been postponed to allow for "private discussions to ensure that the clear direction set by our leader and our party is followed: to unite and offer British Columbians a positive progressive alternative in the next election."

More here as it becomes known.

In my view, this is a sensible decision. I know many will say it is indecision - it isn't. Parties that are composed of people who have any brains resolve their differences privately. They don't have public blood baths to provide political sport for non members and the media.

And there you go.

Carole James tried to bluff and at the last minute folded her hand.

That is NOT leadership.

So was the 84% NDP approval a lie to the public? Funny how quickly Carole folded. Of course this is par for the course for a party that lacks moral and democratic principles. The union heavyweights must have weighed in.

Smartest thing that she has done in awhile

So maybe Ms.James caught on to the fact that at least 13 MLA's weren't about to put up with her bully tactics. She said awhile back she would discuss the issues with the concerned members of caucus. So did she have those individual meetings? I sort of doubt it. I wonder how the executive and other folks from out of town feel after gearing up to appear and now get told, wait for another time. This is pretty standard for Ms. Dithers, say one thing then change her mind. But a delay is a good idea no matter who thought it up and convinced her to cool it just a bit.Time for a mediator or arbitrator because the woman simply doesn't seem able to settle much of anything. Wonder what the total cost for canceling the hotel, travel costs et. all , will set the sort of broke financially party. Glad I lowered my donation to ten bucks till this mess gets sorted.

"Every MLA will be held accountable for their behaviour"

I guess not eh

"I'll wait for the caucus meeting and give every MLA an opportunity"

I guess not eh

"It's important that the party has an opportunity to speak to Jenny and other caucus members and then we'll decide."

I guess not eh

On Thursday Carole James said that she will not take any disciplinary action against Jenny Kwan until after the caucus meeting.

Was the meeting cancelled because Carole James doesn't have the guts to discipline her?

Caucus chair Kathy Corrigan threatened that MLAs would face repercussions if they didn't show up for this meeting and then a couple of hours before it's to take place it's cancelled?

These MLA's were ordered to give up their Sunday and now Corrigan is babbling about cancelation "to ensure that the clear direction set by our leader and our party is followed"?

Well this is just pathetic, isn't it.

This is very interesting. What negotiations are going on now? At least we don't have any more public spats and defamations. I definitely feel the temperature cooling off, or I'm in a delusion caused by my relief at the meeting cancellation news.

Why do they all look so glum? Perhaps it is time that ideas start to govern this province rather than strict adherence to Party flags. I frankly think if individual representatives started to work together regardless of there political affiliation and openly demonstrated this to the public at large confidence could be restored. Adversarial behaviour is not necessary to gain the publics attention.

The tension in the NDP ranks, seems to have been building, for quite some time. Why did they not address this long ago in private? This is a very bad time, to be fighting now. However, the BC Liberal ministers, supported Campbell, right to the hilt, and lost the respect of thousands of BC people. Perish the thought, the BC Liberals will ever, be in office in BC, ever again. All of this proves, BC must have a third party. The Liberals, have very nearly, destroyed this entire province. BC has been thieved, to the point, we will be 40 years, cleaning up Campbell's mess.

Carole James: "It's time to say 'enough.'"

I guess not eh

Kathy Corrigan: "We need to have a decision about who's with us and who is not with us."

I guess not eh

The "EMERGENCY" has been postponed indefinitely.

I guess it wasn't such an EMERGENCY meeting after all, was it Carole.

Hence, this example from an obvious NDP supporter who does indeed provide political sport for Non-NDP Members and the media.
