Another BC Supreme Court day, another day with no publishable testimony in the Basi-Virk/BC Legislature Raid trial.
Legal arguments in the absence of the jury continued again Monday, and due to the publication ban imposed by Associate Chief Justice Anne MacKenzie, nothing can be reported.
The jury is scheduled to return Tuesday morning, as presumably is last witness Martyn Brown, Chief of Staff to Premier Gordon Campbell.

My, oh my.
You don't say!
On her blog BC Mary also slams Associate Chief Justice Anne MacKenzie for media ban and apparent bias in favouring the crown. Having seen Judge MacKenzie in action I tend to agree.
Without a media ban the Judge's courtroom leanings would then be open to public scrutiny. Justice not only needs to be done is needs to be seen to be done, Justice MacKenzie seems to have little interest in either outcome.
Thanks for the update on court scheduling, Bill.
BCSC has apparently "forgotten" to mention Case #23299 -- the BC Rail Political Corruption Trial -- for today (June 29) as well.
Just a co-incidence, I'm sure.
.
Jolly Hall of the Van Sun says the trial resumes today.
Don't hold your breath waiting for this trial to happen. Like kids in school, the Judge and her co-horts can't wait for summer vacation.
Doesn't it seem like the government is doing all it can to sabotage this trial - I am sure the ommissions are deliberate and not accidental.
As the government reminds us - they pay high wages to get the best - best what, you fill in the blanks. We have the best corrupt premier the province has ever know, at the helm right now. Doesn't take much to see what is happening eh!
Thanks
"As the government reminds us - they pay high wages to get the best - best what, you fill in the blanks. "
That's what we in the NDP got in Joy McPhail when she was paid high wage to be a Finance Minister. A blank.
"That's what we in the NDP got in Joy McPhail when she was paid high wage to be a Finance Minister. A blank."
Let's all castigate Joy and the nasty NDP for posting balanced budgets during non-boom times unlike the wonderful LIEberals who continually post deficits during boom times and manage to kill off the forest industry in the middle of the biggest building boom (bubble) in US history........
Now they got BC Hydro buying power for 12.6 cents per kwh and selling it on the grid for about 1/2 cent - talk about business savvy....whoa!
How long will it take to bankrupt BC Hydro enough to justify giving it away to some friend of government or US corporation (pretty much the same thing)?
Many BC people, see the trial of the corrupt sale of BC Rail, as just a farce. It is obvious, Campbell controls the Judicial system, the RCMP, some newspapers and some TV media. Anyone opposing Herr Campbell, finds themselves out of a job. Campbell reminds me of someone. Martyn Brown, has amnesia so badly, makes a person wonder, if he can find his way home. How does anyone so absent minded, keep his job? Doesn't make a lick of sense to me. Because, of Campbell, Hansen and the BC Liberals, BC is the most corrupt province in Canada. They are also the worst government, in the history of Canada. Campbell has the highest cost for security, of all the other provinces. We people have no faith in BC's Judicial judges. They have shown us their corruption, more than once.
