The party - co-hosted by West Star, Working Design, Harvey McKinnon Associates and a raft of individuals - is always great fun.
This year was no exception and after a number of elections it was good to see lots of elected officials in attendance.
Proving that the West Star and friends party is the Vancouver equivalent of Rick's Cafe Americain in Casablanca, both Mayor Gregor Robertson of Vision Vancouver and his NPA opponent for mayor in the November 15th election, Peter Ladner, were prominent at the party.
Also spotted among others - NDP MP Libby Davies, BC NDP MLAs Bruce Ralston and Shane Simpson, Vision Vancouver councilors Heather Deal, Geoff Meggs, Tim Stevenson and Vision park board commissioner Aaron Jasper.
It was a real treat to have both legendary author and Canadian nationalist Mel Hurtig there along with legendary broadcaster and environmentalist Rafe Mair.
We also had a full contingent of media, labour leaders, good friends and many more - again, thanks for coming and have a great holiday season.
